August Newsletter: Young People and Wellness Culture
What church leaders need to know about wellness culture and young people.
As a mental health crisis afflicts a large portion of young people across the U.S., a large part of that crisis is the relationship between social media and wellness culture. Young people, already spending vast amounts of time in social media spaces, are inundated with messaging around fitness, diets, health, and beauty. In this month’s newsletter, we’ll dive into some of these messaging trends, reflect on how young people are trying to redefine wellness to be more holistic, and offer some suggestions to church leaders as to how they might encourage a healthy understanding of wellness and well-being among the young people with whom they work.
Our Young Adult Ministry Trend Report is a reader-supported publication, and so we kindly ask you to consider becoming a paid subscriber. Our August newsletter is attached below as a pdf document and is available for all paid subscribers. A paid subscription will give you access to our entire archive of newsletters and weekly posts. In all our work, we aim to bring a deep engagement with trends among young people and what these trends might mean for church leaders.
