June Newsletter: Spirituality and Religion Trend Report
This month our newsletter will focus on trends around spirituality and religion among young people (ages 13-39).
The headlines and statistics around church decline can be daunting, especially as they claim that the mainline will cease to exist in just a couple of generations if those trends don’t change. Nevertheless, there is reason for some cautious hope after YPulse’s recent Spirituality and Religion Trend Report showed increases in religiosity among young people compared to recent studies. This isn’t to say the trends have fully reversed, or that great challenges don’t remain for mainline church leaders and congregations, but there remains reason for hope.
This month’s newsletter will do a deep dive into the data from YPulse’s recent report about religion and spirituality among young people and tease out some of the implications of these trends for church leaders. How can we continue to engage young people and come alongside them as church leaders? How can we work with them in the building up of the kingdom? How can the perspectives of young people around religious organizations inform church leadership and shape how we engage them in our outreach and youth ministries.
