Weekly Insights
This week we invite ministry leaders to reflect upon new data indicating the desire among young people for more intentional spiritual guidance in their lives.
Do you ever share bits of wisdom with young people, only to have them completely ignore you in favor of their social media feeds? Well, worry not—your wisdom is not, in fact, irrelevant to them. Table manners aside (or lack thereof), a recent YPulse survey showed that a majority of young people actually want more spiritual guidance in their lives. Not only that, but important mentors in their lives remain similar to those of previous generations—family, friends, teachers, instructors, co-workers, etc. Older adults (that is, older than 13-39 year-olds) remain an essential source of spiritual guidance and wisdom for young people, even if it doesn’t always seem that way!
