December Newsletter: Sustainability, Consumerism, Blue Christmas and more.
Check out our monthly newsletter for young adult trends around sustainability, consumerism, holiday shopping and spending, Blue Christmas, and more.
Young people, like people of all ages, struggle with the various tensions of Christmas and the holiday season: excitement, stress and joy, grief and celebration.
How do they engage the consumerism of the season as their financial struggles mount and prices remain higher than in previous years? How does their commitment to building a more sustainable future intersect with a season of widespread waste and excess? This month’s newsletter will explore these questions and more, offering insight into the spending and shopping habits of young people this holiday season. We’ll also discuss the need for more outreach and engagement with young people around typical holiday offerings like Blue Christmas services.
Our Young Adult Ministry Trend Report is a reader-supported publication, and so we kindly ask you to consider becoming a paid subscriber (now only $5/month or $30/year). Our December newsletter is attached below as a pdf document and is available to all paid subscribers. A paid subscription will give you access to our entire archive of newsletters and weekly posts. We aim to bring a deep engagement with trends among young people and what these trends might mean for church leaders. Our September newsletter (Young People and Education) is available to free subscribers as a preview of the kind of content you can get with a paid subscription.
